Halloween 2015

Here are my three little sweethearts: a cow, a fox and of course, Queen Elsa. I know it's adorable to have a family Halloween costume theme, but I love how unique and independent each of you are. Of course, you didn't have much of a choice this year. I've had this cow costume since Ellie was little, but you're the first one to be able to fit in it at Halloween.
Ellie was trying to convince Charlotte to be Princess Anna, but Charlotte was deciding between a fox and a ninja turtle...the fox won. Your two-and-a-half-year-old sister wanted to be a fox for Halloween, how could I tell her no? I hope you have as much independence and spunk as your two sisters do; you're going to need it in order to survive around here!
For now, though, thank you for putting up with your cow costume all evening. You didn't collect any candy this year, but you were a trooper as we weathered the chilly October air so your sisters could go trick-or-treating for the first time. You were observing contently from your cozy spot in the sling, the cutest little cow around. :)

Tummy Time is Exhausting

...as you demonstrate here. :) You're doing a great job though! Keep up the good work and you'll be rolling around in no time!

A Keeper

You love being held so much, and Daddy was getting jealous that I was getting all of the cuddle time, so he decided to join in on the fun. He was so excited to have you snuggled up in the sling while he wore it.
Can you blame me for loving this guy? He is such a great daddy to you three girls. I mean, just look at that face. Definitely a keeper.

Taking Advantage

The weather has been absolutely beautiful this fall! And we have been taking full advantage. We went to Jacquemin Farms today for fun in the sun...and grain bin. Unfortunately, you're not old enough to have your first vaccine shots, so I wasn't ready for you to get down and dirty just yet.
You were very alert and aware, though, as we spent time digging and playing in the grain bin.
I promise, next time we go, you'll get to dump corn over your head and make "corn angels" too!

Our Michigan Adventure

You were just turning 6-weeks-old when you took your very first out-of-state adventure. Grandma came down to help with the drive and the five of us set off to Michigan while Daddy took a trip to Vermont with Uncle Tom. You were an amazing traveler! It's a little colder in Michigan than Ohio this time of year, so we had to make sure you were dressed for the weather.
We packed a lot into the three days that we were there. We visited with Nonna and Ga, visited Grandma and Grandpa's cottage, went to the Fun Zone park, stopped by GG and Great Grandpa's house and Great Aunt Sue's too.
We got to have dinner with and introduce you to some of the extended Briggs family and capped off the weekend with fun in the fall leaves. You definitely enjoyed yourself because you started smiling while you were up there! Next year you'll be teetering around trying to keep up with your sisters. :)
For now you'll have to settle for watching them from my arms and enjoying their never-ending smooches.

Fall Fun

We took a family trip to Lynd's Fruit Farm this weekend for some apple picking and fun at the pumpkin patch. You slept through most of it, but we still had a blast finding just the right pumpkins for everyone. Next year you'll be able to join your sisters and pick one of your very own!

One Month Old!

I can't believe you're already one month old...and yet it seems like you've been a part of the family for so much longer than that. You had your well visit at the doctor's office today. You are 10 lbs 14.5 oz, so just shy of 11 pounds; you're eating like a champ! Your new length is 22.25 inches. Both of these measurements put you in the 98th percentile for your age. :)
You're not smiling or cooing just yet, but I've seen glimpses of your smile while you are sleeping and I cannot WAIT for those beautiful grins to be directed at me. Any day now!
You are becoming much more alert during the day, but you love curling up against Mommy in the Moby or SlingEZee for a nice, cuddly nap.  Whether you're sleeping or awake, the way you move and place your hands is absolutely adorable; I think you're going to be a very expressive talker!
Your edible cheeks are so enticing, I find myself taking a little nibble whenever I can. Your eyes are still a dark blue, so we'll have to wait and see what your permanent eye color will be. It appears as though you may end up with curly hair! It curls up whenever it's wet - I can't wait to see what it does when it's longer!
Though I'm not getting much sleep and it is a very rare moment when you let me put you down long enough to give my back a rest, I am soaking this time up.  Because, as it's said:
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait 'til tomorrow
But children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep.
