Your Nursery

After weeks, even months of slowly accumulating items and putting things together, I think your room is finally ready to greet you when you get here.  Your daddy took his time to carefully put your crib together and helped me get the big pieces of furniture in the room.
Your sisters painted you pictures to welcome you into the family.  They're so excited to meet you and show you their artwork hanging in your room!
I added a couple special nursery verses to your walls and the rest just sort of came together.  :)

There's just one thing missing...  :)

Only Six Weeks to Go!

I can't believe how little time we have before we get to meet you!  Pregnancy is one of those anomalies that makes time tick on so slowly and fly right by at the same time.  We are anxiously awaiting your arrival in six short weeks (or less!).
Lately you have been playing soccer with my bladder, which isn't extremely comfortable, but makes me smile anyway.  I've been experiencing a lot more pelvic pain, so I'm guessing you've probably dropped your little head down there in preparation for your big trip coming up.  Your kicks and punches are getting much stronger, and you love sticking your little foot way out as far as you can so Daddy and I can massage it back down.  :)  Keep growing strong!  Not long now.

Nesting, Nesting and More Nesting

I have been on a rampage these past few weeks to get ready for you!  The crib is up.  The dresser and nightstand are bought. The rocker is on the way.  Your clothes are washed and in the drawers.  There are newborn diapers in the diaper holder.  Boxes of baby toys have been dug through.  The bottle sterilizer is out and has already been put to use.  The hospital bag is set.  Pictures are being hung.  Room decorations are coming together.  The countdown is slowly dwindling down.  Can't believe we only have seven weeks before we get to meet you!

8 Weeks Left

I can't believe how quickly time has flown already!  There are only 8 weeks left until your due date and if you're anything like your sisters, you'll probably arrive sooner than that.
I've got my hospital bag all set and your nursery is well on the way.  Only a few odds and ends to add to complete your room.  :)  Aunt Melinda will drop off the bassinet at the beginning of August and after that I think we'll have everything all ready to go for your arrival!  Stay put for now!

World Cup Champions!!!

You've probably been wondering what has been getting my adrenaline running these past few weeks.  I can tell that you've noticed because you get almost as excited as me in there.  :)  Well, for the first time since 1999, the US Women's soccer team has won the World Cup!
It has been amazing to watch, and this last game was the perfect icing on the cake.  The US women's team had a very special bond; you could just tell that something special was happening this year.  They played Japan in the FIFA World Cup final game and came out victorious with a whopping score of 5-2!
What was even more incredible was Carli Lloyd's performance throughout the tournament, but especially in the final game.  She became only the second player EVER to score a hat trick in the final game of the World Cup!!

USA pride soared tonight watching them perform with such dominance and strength.  I would love to watch you and your sisters become all-star soccer players, but what I truly hope is that you grow up to be strong, independent, driven women.  I am so happy to be bringing you into a world knowing there are such strong role models for you to look up to.  :)

Fourth of July Weekend Fun

Though I didn't get any pictures, you were decked out in red, white and blue for the Fourth of July this year, just like your sisters.  Friday we took our first family trip to Alum Creek out on the boat.  You didn't like the bumpy waves very much, but once we anchored and started our picnic, you seemed to be much more content.  :)
On the Saturday the Fourth we had a quick visit from your Great Aunt Mart who so thoughtfully brought you a little welcome gift of homemade burp cloths.  From past experience, I know you can never have enough of these!  They are going straight into your nightstand drawer next to the glider where you and I will be spending lots of time together.
In the afternoon, Daddy grilled up a delicious dinner of hamburgers, brats and hotdogs while Mommy made the corn on the cob, red, white & blue fruit dish and a fun, firecracker popcorn dessert.

We finished the day introducing your sisters to sparklers for the first time.  Ellie said that she will teach you how to hold them when you get old enough.  :)  So much we can't wait to share with you!

Looking Forward To...

Quiet hours in the night spent with just you and me
Open-mouth kisses slobbered all over my cheeks
Watching you discover the world around you
Seeing your daddy fall in love all over again
Introducing you to your two big sisters
First time crawling, first everything
The sweet smell of new baby
Baby sugar and chunkiness
Your breath on my face
Adorably cute outfits
Holding you close
Soft, fuzzy hair
Toothless grins
Tiny toes
YOU
